He constantly talks about how Black people idolize Europeans, yet as soon as a country takes a step to break free from its colonial master, he has a problem with it. At worst, they will have better conditions working with countries from the Global South. It seems like he’s suggesting they should continue living in perpetual subjugation to the French.

To understand what’s going on in Burkina Faso, you have to know how geopolitical works. France had control of the minerals for centuries, while the country got poorer and insurgents took over. When Traore took over, he had a decision to make. Stick with France and get nothing or make a deal with Putin and China. Since making the deal, the country started to see growth from within, and they started to reclaim their land that was controlled by the insurgents. Burkina Faso can not stand on their own. No country can, not even the USA.
