Who was Germaine Mason

Mason, a Jamaican-born athlete who represented Great Britain in 2006 and won silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, was at the helm of a bike convoy on the Palisadoes main road in Kingston, when he lost control of his bike, reports He was reportedly riding with numerous high-profile international athletes including eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt, 100-meter silver medalist Michael Frater and retired Jamaican footballer Ricardo Gardner.
The Jamaica Constabulary wrote on Twitter: “Germaine Mason, 34, Jamaican-born athlete and former national high jumper, died in a motorcycle crash this Thursday 4:20am.”

Record arrivals mark the start of Tourism Awareness Week Bartlett

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica — The local tourism sector began its celebration of Tourism Awareness Week 2017 with news that Jamaica continues to experience record-breaking visitor arrivals.

DJ Matterhorn Reggae sumfest 2017 Sound Clash champ

  Tony Matterhorn  who made is name  from New York sound King Addis walked away with $500,000 and the Soundclash championship belt after demolishing four sounds in the second city, Montego Bay on Thursday night.

The Soundclash put on by Reggae Sumfest and its partners was a great vibe. The superb layout helped to recreate the Soundclash atmosphere. Each sound had their own stage that was strategically placed around the venue. The use of zinc-fences bearing the name of each sound, and how the fliers were plastered on the zinc definitely set the tone for a dancehall soundclash at the Pier 1 venue.

Champions Cornwall play St James in MoBay 'battle royale

The ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup is set to resume action this afternoon with 40 matches across all zones and two epic derby matches set to lead the way.

At 3:30 p.m., the Montego Bay cross-town derby between St. James High and Cornwall College at Jarrett Park will be a battle royal top-of-the-table clash. Both teams are locked on 12 points at the top, with St James High getting the edge on goal difference.

Adults-Only Breathless Resort Opens in Montego Bay

There's a new adults-only resort in Jamaica: Breathless Montego Bay Resort and Spa.

The latest new all-inclusive property for Apple Leisure Group subsidiary AMResorts held its officially ribbon cutting this week during the JAPEX Jamaica tourism conference.

The 150-suite resort, which also offers guests access to the nearby Secrets Wild Orchid and Secrets St James resorts, has a range of amenities from the only rooftop pool and bar in Jamaica to fire pits and a dedicated beach club.
